City Hanager Keyes, Deputy City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting \vith a prayer and thQ following proccedin;;s \Vere had. Minutes of the regular meeting of 21 February 1973 were approved as read. Proclamation - ".'-\merican Red Cross Month" March 1973: ---"'._~------~-------_.~~.~-- In accordance with Mrs. Robert Holter of the American Red Cross, Mayor Grabow proclaimed the month of March as "American Red Cross Month" and urged all citizens of this area to support this important drive. It was moved by Commissi.oner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that they endorse the Mayors proclamation as requested and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrldnd and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Announcem'=!l1;.~.~pE2.!ntm~.~.~~ Fire_~hief - Herbe:r;t H. l~g~L-LE-=- The City Manager announced his proclamation of Ass't. Fire Chief Herbert Hoey to Fire Chief of the Fire Department of the City of Bozeman effective 1 March 1973. The Commission concurred in the City Managers appointment and it: was moved by Commissioner Vollmer. seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Managers appointment of Herbert H. Hoey, Jr., to Fire Chief effective 1 March 1973 be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Grabmv; those voting No, none. Mayor Grabmv on behalf of the Commission thanked Fire Chief Huber for a job ':Jell done and con- gratulated Ass't Fire Chief Roey on his promotion. ~uthori ty to Holel "Jally Byam Caravan Club International Rally in Bo:<eman - l1..._Jllne ...E2.- {+ J~ Cha~lbe~ of Commerce: 1 A letter received from Hayne Gibson, Bozeman Chairman of the Hally Byam Caravan Club International requesting the approved of the City Commission to host a Wally Byam Caravan Club International Rally in Bozeman during the week of 28 June Through 4 July 1973 \vas presented. They will be parking in the Tai Lane Addition and the Boylan Addition within the City limits and on property owned by Dick and Boyd Boylan southwest of the City Limits. Follm.;ing a discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lchrkind, that thf>Y concur in the City Managers recommendation to hold the Wally Byam Caravan Club International Rally in Bozeman during the week of 28 June through 4 July and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voti.ng Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. ~~~ication for K<:.nnel License - Hrs. Robert Lord: An application received from Mrs. Robert Lord, 110l~ South Pinecrest requesting 8 kennel license in accordance with Ordinance No. 857, Section 5.16.01,0 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, together with the required fee was presented. The City Manager and the Chief of Police stated they were not aware of any reason to deny the kennel license and it was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Comm- issioner Vandeventer, that the above application be approved and the Director of Finance be instructed to issue a license in accordance therewi tho The motion \v8S carried by the follmving Aye and No vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Comm- issioner Sedivy and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Hi lles..J>lum~~r i~_tQ9_~: 00 In compliance with Chapter 15 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the Electrical Bond of Ne\V Mannix Electric, Bozeman and in compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the continuation certificate of the plumbing bond of George C. Miller, Bozeman was presented. The Bui.lding Inspector had recommended approval of the above mentioned bonds and the City Attorney had approved the bonds as to form. It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the bonds be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Plans and specifications covering the proposed improvement in Special Improvement District"No. I 383 384 518 for the construction of Hyalite Park Water System and Playground Equipment as prepared by the Engineers was placed before the Commission. In concurrence with the City Engineers the City Manager recommended that the plans and specifications as presented be approved and that a call for bids for construction of Hyalite Park Hater System and Playground Equipment be authorized. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and d irec ted to publish a "Call for Bids" for the construction of Hyalite Park Hater System and the purchase of Playground Equipment to be opened 28 March 1973. Reports The following reports were presented: Building Inspector Fire Chief (Annual) Librarian Skating The City Manager commented on the above reports and recommended approval thereof. Request t:.-o_ Condu<:;t Fund Drive - Civil Aernautics Fund Drive A letter received from Pat M. Goodover II, Gallatin Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol Auxil- iary USAF requesting permission to conduct a fund drive, 2-16 March 1973, \-]88 presented. The money to be used for necessary equipment for Search and Rescue in the United States. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the permission to conduct the fund drive be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Comm- issioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. :2.di ou rnm,:.!lS.
