HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-30-16 Public Comment - M. Sebren - Bozeman TaproomAs the parent of a child who attends Hawthorne Elementary, I am deeply concerned about the
Taproom acquiring a full liquor license.
Now, I'm no prude. I didn't have too much of an issue with the beer and wine permit, albeit it
was somewhat of a dirty trick of them to use the loophole of an address on Mendenhall, rather
than Rouse. But a full liquor license is overkill.
The Taproom made a decision to open a bar across the street from an established school, not
vice versa. I'm more concerned with the safety of the school kids than the owners of the
Taproom's ability to grow their business.
Further, have you noticed the parking situation around Hawthorne? Under normal
circumstances, dropping off and picking up kids is tough. With construction sites on two of the
four roads, it is now horrible. Sure, the construction is temporary but making the school larger
means more kids...which means more cars dropping them off and picking them up.
I, for one, have zero interest in fighting bar patrons for the extremely limited parking spots
available around Hawthorne. And the drinking and driving, well, enough said.
Please deny the full liquor license.
Respectfully,
Michelle Sebren
