Message: I live on Cherry Drive, not in the neighborhood adjacent to the proposed Black-Olive
apartment building. However, I use Olive Street extensively to get to the post office, my church
and downtown businesses. Traffic is already impeded on busy narrow Olive Street by parked
vehicles; more vehicles will make the street even more congested. Mr. Halloran's proposed
development does not impact just the immediate neighbors of that corner, and I find his remarks
about not needing a car in Bozeman insensitive to anyone needing groceries or an escape to our
mountains. If he obtains a permit for the building, I hope it is modified so all its potential
residents have adequate off-street parking provided by the builder. Perhaps the regulation by the
city of one parking place per apartment (or dwelling?) needs to be modified so that our streets
are not big horizontal parking lots even more than they are now.
