HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-28-16 Public Comment - M. Osman - Black OliveTo the Commissioners, I'm not quiet sure what tonight's meeting will cover but as pertains to the
growth of Bozeman at expense of our neighborhood's overall integrity I do hope the discussion
takes seriously the concerns of the residents. In the Chronicle article, the developer of the Olive-
Black apartments said that about 100 people opposed it. I frequently get into conversations with
Bozeman residents and have never heard one person even attempt to speak favorably about the
project. People who do not live in the immediate neighborhood are appalled at the size and
impact the apartment will have on the small city we all love. Some are against any large housing
units, but most are ok with an apartment on the scale of the one across the street from the
proposed apartment.
Your legacy as commissioners will be to either comply with the developer or to comply with the
guiding documents and the recommendations of the design board. The ominous black metal
structure is so at odds with all the work being done on Main St. buildings. It's a mental
disconnect that makes no sense in that setting.
Remember too that on the many icy days we have it can be hazardous to have to park and lug
groceries and dogs and kids or old folks for a few blocks to your front door. Parking near your
home is one of the benefits of living in a well planned community. Please work to protect the
town that we love. Thank you, Mary Lou Osman
