HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-09-27 ",\l'-'j ,\ , } <;, \1 Bozeman, Montana 27 September 1972 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 27 September 1972, at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Grabow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager Fryslie, Acting City Attorney Andriola and the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had. Minutes of the regular meeting held Wednesday, 20 September 1972 were approved as read. Consideration of Bids: Tractor, Loade~p'ost ~ole Digger: The Commission was referred to the opening of bids for the new tractor, loader and post hole digger for use by the Street department. The bids having been tabulated and analyzed, the City Eng- ineer and the Street superintendent recommended to the City'Manager that Dorn Equipment Company, Boz- eman, be awarded the bid on the basis of their bid in the amount of $9,043.18, it being the lowest bid and equaling or exceeding the specifications as contained in the "Call for Bids.'1 The City Mana- get having concurred in the recommendation of the City Engineer and the Street Superintendent, re- commended that the purchase be authorized. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commiss- ioner Lehrkind, that the purchase of the tractor, loader and post hole digger be awarded to Darn Equipment Company on the basis of their bid in the amount of $9,043.18 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Affidavit of publication of "Notice to Bidders" was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the bids be opened and read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor GrabOtV'; those voting No, none. Tynes Construction Great Falls, Mont. 86,376.00 The Commission concurred tvi th the recommendation of the City Manager and it was moved by Comm- issioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the bids be referred to the consulting engineers for Thomas, Dean and Hoskins, and the City Engineer for final tabulation and recommendation contingent upon the successful sale of the bonds held 4 October 1972 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioncr Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind and Hayor Grabow; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that permiss- ion to conduct the fund drive as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehr- kind, Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Traffic Consideration North Seventeenth Avenue & Terrace; A letter received from several interested persons of North Seventeenth Avenue and Terrace Avenue requesting help in curtailing the traffic problem in that area was presented. Mrs. David Bruce was present in regard to the request. No one appeared to protest and there being no t-rri tten protests on file, it was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vande- venter, that the resolution be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioncr Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer and Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. Affidavit of publication of Notice was presented. No one was present to protest and no written protests having been filed, Resolution No. 1541 provisionally passed and adopted at the regular session held 20 September 1972 was presented for final passage. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the resolution be finally passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.
