HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-10-25 338 Bozeman, Montana 25 October 1972 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 25 October 1972, at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Grabow, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager Fryslie, Asslt. City Manager K.eyes. Acting City Attorney O'Connell and the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 18 October 1972 were approved as read. Reques t fo:;- Variance t'?_3ign Code - B~lttreys Sho~~C:.llt:..~.E.':" A letter received from Buttreys Shopping Center, Bozeman, requesting a variance from the Bozeman City Code to allow them to move their existing pylon sign thirty feet west of its present location without altering the existing height was presented. Follo\\ling a discussion, the City Manager recommended that the variance to the Sign code from Buttreys Shopping Center be approved due to the fact that the original sign is under the grandfather clause and it is being moved at the request of the Montana Htghway Department to accomodate curb cut alignments. It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that Buttreys Shopping Center be granted permission to move their existing pylon sign thirty feet west of its present location without altering the existing height. It was then moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the motion be amended to read, that if the sign is ever changed it must comply with the Zoning Code. On the motion to amend those voting Aye were Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer and Hayor Grabow, Those voting no, none. Those voting Aye to the amended moti,on were Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none. ]{e p ~r:.t;..s..2 The following reports were presented. Cemetery Librarian Hater Collector The City Manager commented on the reports and recon~ended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind and Hayor Grabow; those voting No. none ~~i9~En!~e r~..:. There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion ~vas carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Lehrkind, oting No, none.
