The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 9 August 1972, at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Grabow, Commissioner Sedivy, Comm.
issioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't.
City Manager Keyes, Acting City Attorney O'Connell and the Clerk.
Commissioner Lehrkind opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had.
Minutes of the regular meeting held Wednesday, 2 August 1972, were approved as corrected.
Minutes of the special meeting held Thursday, 3 August 1972, were approved as read.
Public- Hearing, Ordinance No. 924, Appropriations Fiscal Year 1972-1973:
This was the time and place set for public hearing on- the appropriation Ordinance No. 924 for
the fiscal year ending 30 June 1973. Affidavit of publication of Notice of hearing was presented.
No one appeared to verbally protest and the Clerk of the Commission stated no formal protests had
been filed in opposition to the adoption and passage of the proposed ordinance and accompanying
annual appropriation budget. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was
moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that no protests having been
received the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to publish the ordinance as required
by law, Section 11-3319, R.C.M., 1947 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Comm-
issioner Lehrkind, and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.
Request for HB 254 Funds - Signing Project, $9,468.00:
An application for the priority number l-72 for the purchase of materials to fabricate and
install various types of signs to upgrade existing signs and to install new signs to meet the new
standards of the uniform Traffic Control Devices Manual at an estimated cost of $9,468.00 to be paid
for from the Gas Tax funds allocated to the City of Bozeman under provisions of House Bill No. 42-
436 & 254 and complying with Rules and Regulations promulgated by the Montana StateDepartment of
Highways for administration of the Act was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer. seconded
by Commissioner Sedivy, that the application be executed by the members of the City Commission and
submitted to the Montana State Highway Commission as presented and the motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, COmm-
issioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Grabow, those voting No, none.
Authority to Attend APWA Convention & Equipment Show, Minneapolis, 21-27 September. Ass't. City Mgr.
Keyes:
The American Public Works Association Convention is scheduled to be held in Minneapolis on 21-27
September 1972 and the City Manager requested authority for Ass't. City Manager Robert F. Keyes to
attend the convention and, it being in the public interest his expenses be paid from the appropriate
fund. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that Robert F. Keyes
be granted permission to attend the convention and the motion was carried by the following Aye and
No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer,
Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.
Commission Resolution No. 1528, Intent to Create SID No. 514, Sanitary Sewer, $15,000.00, Remington
Addition, Hearing 30 August 1972:

A RESOLUTION OF TIlE CITY COMMISSION OF TIlE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DECLARING
IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, TO CREATE A SPECIAL
IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT TO BE KNOWN AS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NUMBER 514
FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF A SANITARY SEWER LATERAL
MAIN AND APPURTENANCES TO SERVE SAID ADDITION, MORE SPECIFICALLY AS FOLLOWS,
AN EIGHT INCH SANITARY SEWER MAIN TO BE LAID WITHIN AN EASEMENT TO BE GRANTED
THROUGH REMINGTON ADDITION FOR SUCH PURPOSES.
THE CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF SUCH IMPROVEMENT TO INCLUDE ALL TRENCH
EXCAVATION AND BACKFILL, BEDDING MATERIALS, SANITARY SEWER PIPE, NECESSARY

License Bond - Buds Neon - Sign Contractor, $2,000.00:
In compliance wi,th Chapter l4 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the Sign Contractor Bond in the
amount of $2,000.00 of Buds Neon was presented. The City Manager stated the Building Inspector had
recommended approval of the above mentioned bond and the Acting City Attorney had approved the bond
as to form. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the above
mentioned bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer,
and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended approval thereof. It was moved by
Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the reports be approved and ordered
filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Those voting Aye being Commissioner
Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, COmmi~oner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Grabow; those
voting No, none.
Claims:

Claim No's. l3563 thru 13772 inclusive and 2505 thru 2656 inclusive were presented. The City
Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City and re-
commended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment.
It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the following
claimS be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy
and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.
