MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION
Monday, 3 January 1972
This being the time designated by Law (Section 11-3249, R.C.M., 1947) and Chapter 2.08 of the
Bozeman Municipal Code for the organization of the City Commission in accordance with the results
of the Regular Municipal Election held 2 November 1971, The City Commission met at 10:00 o'clock
A.M., 3 January 1972, in the Commission Room, Municipal Building for organization purposes and the
transaction of unfinished business. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner
Lehrkind, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes
and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vollmer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Reorganization of City Commission:
This was the time and place set by MOntana Stature for the re-organization of the City Comm-
ission as per the results of the Regular Municipal Election held in 1970 and 1971. Retiring Mayor
Don M. Langohr, Jr., having concluded all unfinished business to be brought before the Commission
at this time, expressed his appreciation for the support given to him by Commissioner Sedivy,
Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer and Commissioner Lehrkind. He commended City Manager
Fryslie, Clerk of the Commission Erna Harding, Ass't. City Manager Keyes and the Department heads
and also expressed his appreciation for their efforts during his term.
He then turned the Mayor's gavel over to incoming Mayor Grabow. Commissioner Sedivy and
newly elected Commissioner Vandeventer were then seated as City Commissioners, having fully quali-
fied for a new four year term.
Mayor Grabow reviewed a summary of the City's outstanding accomplishments under Mayor Langohr's
leadership and concluded by presenting him with an engraved Key of the City as a token of appreciation
for his splendid services during his term as City Commissioner and Mayor.
Mayor Grabow then stated that he expected to be agressive, to look forward to the ever mounting
problems and to continue the program in any way contributing to the "Betterment" of Bozeman.
Convocation:
Mayor Grabow called upon Commissioner Sedivy to close the meeting with convocation.
Adjournment:
There being no further business to come before the special meeting, it was moved by Commissioner
Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried
by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Grabow; those voting No, none.
