I urge you to not approve the Black Olive proposal in its present form. You have heard the many
arguments against this project so I will keep my comments brief and say I agree with those
arguments. The project is way over scale and will greatly detract from the historical nature of the
neighborhood. The amount of parking proposed is woefully inadequate and would add to what is
already a problematic situation. The "Car Share" proposed by the developer is certainly no
solution - will he seek out renters that do not own cars?
I believe that most folks accept that a project of some kind will take place, but this project as
proposed is totally unacceptable. Efforts need to be made to produce a more appealing building
that would be a better fit in the historical neighborhood; it needs to be on a smaller scale; and
more onsite parking needs to be included.
