The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 10 February 1971, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow,
Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City
Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had:
Minutes of the regular meeting held 3 February 1971 were approved as read.
Proclamations: American F~d Service Week 14-21 February Beauty Salon Week 14-21 February
Jaycee Week 21-27 February:
In accordance with the request of the Adult Chapter of the American Field Service, Mayor Langohr
proclaimed the week of 14-21 February as "American Field Service Week" in the City of Bozeman and called
upon all of the citizens to support this worthy program with a generous response to the related Candy
sale solicitations by the entire student body of the Bozeman Senior High School. It was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Grabow, that the Commission concur in the proclamation
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow,
Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
The Junior Chamber of Commerce asked that Mayor Langohr proclaim the week of 21-27 February 1971
as "Junior Chamber of Commerce" week. In concurrence with their wishes, Mayor Langohr reported he had
issued the requested proclamation urging all citizens of the Community to give full consideration to
the future services of the Bozeman Jaycees. It was moved by Commissioner Grabow, seconded by Commiss-
ioner Vollmer, that the Mayor's proclamation be approved and endorsed and the motion was carried by
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
Mayor Don M. Langohr announced his proclamation of 14-21 February as "National Beauty Salon Week"
in the City of Bozeman and called it to the attention of all citizens as a week in which to give
special consideration to the cosmetologists of our community, acknowledging their high sense of public
responsibility and their dedication to providing the best possible beauty care for all women in accord-
ance with the request of the Bozeman Beauticians Association. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer,
seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the proclamation be endorsed and the motion was carried by the
the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy,
Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Grabow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
Authority to Call for Bids: Tractor-Backhoe for Water Department to be opened 10 March 1971:
The Water department has need for a Tractor-Backhoe at an approximate cost of $12,000.00 with a
trade-in of the present unit. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow,
that the purchase of the Tractor-Backhoe be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be directed to
issue a "Call for Bids" for the purchase of the Tractor-Backhoe, to be received and opened 10 March
1971 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by
Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Grabow,that the reports be approved and ordered filed
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow,
Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.

The City Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the
City of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue
warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner Grabow, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the

claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Grabow, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, and Mayor
Langohr; those voting No, none.
Ad;ournment:
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Comm-
issioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being C
