HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-12-09 64 Bozeman, Hontana 9 December 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 9 December 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't City Manager Keys, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Morrow opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had. Minutes of the regular meeting held 2 December 1970 were approved as read. I Autl:lOrity ^bsenu~.._of Comm!,ssioner Sedivy: In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner Sedivy be authorized in compliance with Section 11-3245, R.C.M., 1947, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Bozeman Seni.or HiJjh Scho2.J Young Life Club - St~e Cflndleli.ght Parade 23 December 1970: A letter received from Dr. John Heetderks, Director of Young Life, requesting permission to sponsor a Christmas Candlelight Parade, 23 December 1970 was presented. It was moved by Mayor Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that permission for the Young Life Club to conduct a candlelight parade on 23 December be granted and that flashlights rather than lighted candles be utilized by participants as a matter of safety. The Commission requested that they contact the Police Department to provide the adequate traffic control for the parade. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Authority to Purchase Gravel - Driveways at New Waste Water Treatment Plant, Approximately $1,100.00: The City Mana~er reported that it is necessary to improve the driveways at the New Waste Water Treatment Plant and requested authority to purchase seven hundred yards of gravel from Gardner Con- struction at an approximate cost of $1,100.00. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the City Manager be granted authority to purchase the gravel for the driveways and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. ~lication for Beer License - New Arcade Steak House - 43 West Main Street: I The application for a one-half year Beer License, together with the required fee from Doris Ferguson of the New Arcade Steak House, 43 West Main Street, Bozeman, was presented. The City Manager and the Chief of Police stated they had no reason to believe that the business would warrant disapproval of the application. It was moved by Mayor Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the above application be approved therewith and the the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayot Langohr and Commissioner Morrow; those voting No, none. Commission Resolution No. l~Lf8 - Certify Delinquent Taxes $LfO,l43.23: Resolution No. 1448 certifying delinquent taxes in the amount of $40,132.23 to the Gallatin County Treasurer was presented, entitled: COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1448 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN DECLARING CERTAIN SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AND INSTALLMENTS OF SPECIAL ASSESS- MENTS, DUE AND PAYABLE NOVEMBER 30, 1970, AND UNPAID AS OF THAT DATE, AND CERTAIN OTHER SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS AND INSTALLMENTS OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS, DUE AND PAYABLE NOVEMBER 30, 1970, AND UN- PAI~ DELINQUENT, AS PROVIDED BY CHAPTER 2.32 6F THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL CODE AND SECTION 11-2233, POLITICAL CODE, R.C.M., 1947. Upon recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the resolution be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: Those voting Aye being Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow; those voting no, none. New Sewer Const. 68,556.74 Total $179,751.91 The City Manager checked on the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports: The City Manager commented on the report of the Chief of Police and recommended the approval thereof.
