HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-12-23 67 Bozeman, Montana 23 December 1970 the Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 23 December 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Elect Grabow, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and I the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 16 December 1970 were approved as read. Authorize Absence of Commissioner Morrow: ~_.._. ,.-..-' In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner Morrow be authorized in compliance with Section 11-3245, R.C.M., 1947. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Authorize Purchase of Sewer Rods - 250 Sections, Approximately $700.00: _-.-..--.--~ The Sewer department has need for 250 sections sewer rod costing approximately $700.00 and the City Manager requested authority to purchase the sewer rod. It was moved by Mayor Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that authority to purchase the 250 sections of sewer rod be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Langohr and Comm- issioner Sedivy; those voting No, none. 197} B~~_and Liquor Licenses for Approval: The following application for City Beer and Liquor Licenses, together with the required fees were presented. In con- currence wi th the recommendation of the Ci ty ~anager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the above application be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue license in accordance therewith and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: I those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Code - Western Banlc: A letter received from the Billings Neon Manufacturing Company requesting permission to hook up a small p las tic triangle sign from 10' to 8'8" from ground level at the new Western Bank located on West Main Street was presented. The triangle being 3/16" thick with the wiring and lights all concealed behind heavy plastic metal. Following a thorough discussion of the request and in concurrence with the recommendation of the 68 Ci ty Manager, it was moved by Mayor Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the variance in height from 10' to 8'8" from the ground be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Langohr and Commissioner Sedivy; those vo t ing No, none. Boze~l Senior Citizel2.s Center - Revised__ Zoning Code: A letter received from Donald F. Nell, Housing Coordinator of the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce I in behalf of the Bozeman Senior Citizens Center requesting the revision of the existing zoning code for off-street parking was presented. Following a thorough discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that a letter be addressed to the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce acknowledging receipt of their letter which is to be referred to the planning board for their comments and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. B.e.22.Et : The City Manager commented on the report of the Director of Public Service and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Mayor Langohr, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Mayor Langohr and Commissi.oner Sedivy; those voting No, none.
