HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-12-30 69 Bozeman, Montana 30 December 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Build ing, 30 December 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Elect Grabow, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, I City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Mayor Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 23 December 1970 were approved as corrected. [~~~ing Res~lution No. 1447 - Intent to Vacate Part AIl1?..:L Block 2, Durston'_~ 2nd.: This was the time and place set for hearing Commission Resolution No. 1447 on vacating the North 165 feet of the alley bounded on the North and Sou by Juniper and Aspen Streets and on the East and West by North Seventh Avenue and North Eighth Avenues, Block 2, Durston's 2nd Subdivision. Affidavit of publication of notice and the Clerks certificate stating that all property owners had been noti- fied as required by law was presented. There being no one present to protest and no protests having been filed, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, tha t the Ci ty Attorney be instructed to prepare an Ordinance vacating a portion of the Alley in Block 2, Durstons 2nd Subdivision and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. ~ication for $4,000.00 B.O.R. Grant - Improve Old City Hall Site (So~~ .Lillis t_. Club) : The City Manager presented an application for Bureau of Outdoor Recreation funds for the development of a small downtown park on the old Bozeman City Hall-Opera H6use site. The application for Federal assistance amounts to $4,000.00 and matching funds for this proposed park will come mainly from the Bozeman Soroptimist Club which has pledged an immediate portion of this money with strong indications that additional pledges will be forthcoming. Following a thorough discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the City Manager and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that submission of the application be approved as presented and the Mayor and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized I and directed to sign for the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. ~plication for H.U.D. Public Works Grant, $350,936. - H. side Water TranSmission Line -\-18 Mont.-17: The City Manager presented a proposed application to be submitted to the Housing and Urban Develop- ment Administration for a Federal Grant Project WS-Mont.-17 to assist the City in construction of water Transmission lines to provide a water supply for the westerly portion of Bozeman in the amount of $350,937.00. Total project cost is estimated at $810,344.40 with the local share expected to be pro- vided from an S.I.D. Construction of these lines is essential to permit proper development of the area involved and to provide adequate water supply and fire protection to Montana State University and the Bozeman Senior-Junior High School Campus. Following a thorough discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the City Manager, and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that submission of the above application be approved as presented and the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized and directed to sign for the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, :ommissioner Morrow and Mayor Laogohr; those voting No, none. ~15ca_~Lon fo!;. V.F.W. 300.00 200.00 Haufbrau ---.00 200.00 The City Manager and Chief of Police stated they were not aware of any incidents in the operation of the above establishments that would warrant disapproval of the application. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the above applications be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue 70 license in accordance therewith and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none.
