HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-10-14 51 Bozeman, Montana 14 October 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 14 October 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy. City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, Ass't. City At~orney Andriola and the Clerk. I Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 7 October 1970 were read and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as corrected and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No Vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commiss- ioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. New Hyalite Subdivision Property Owners - Dogs at Large and Nuisance: A group of property owners from the New Hyalite View Subdivision appeared before the Commission to express their concern over dogs running at large and a nuisance in violation of Section 5.61.060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code and to recommend some possible solutions to remedy the existing problem. Following a thorough discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the City Commission accept the report of the property owners and that the recommendations of the group present be taken under advisement and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. Authority to Attend Water and Waste, Water Plant Operators School MSU, 16-20 November 1970: The annual school for Water and Waste Water Plant Operators and Managers will be held at Montana State University, 16-20 November and in concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Engineer, the Dis- posal Plant Operator and two members of the Water Department be authorized to attend the schools 16-20 November and, it being in the public interest their expenses be paid from the appropriate I fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr, those voting No, none. Construction Claims: Pay estimate No. 12 on the Waste Water Treatment plant with claim attached and a claim for the City's share of 1970 sidewalk and curb construction were presented. The City Manager concurred with the recommendation of the engineers and presented the following claims for payment. Detweiler Bros. - Const. Est. No. 12 - $123,343.43 w. D. Howells, Inc., - $609.95 After examination of the Claims, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the claims be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment thereof and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Compl~.!::}on and Acceptance of South Willson Avenue Street Widening: Recommend payment by State Hi.ghwBJ The City Manager informed the Commission, that the construction work on South Willson Street widening HB-42, HB-436, Project 212(04) and (06) having been completed, he concurred in the recommend- ation of the engineer of Thomas, Dean & Hoskins, Inc., that the contract of Long Construction Company be accepted as completed in accordance with the plans and specifications, contingent upon acceptance by the State Highway Department and final quantities be certified to the Highway Department for payment. Following a discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the contract of Long Construction Company for HB-42, HB436 212(04) and (06), widening of South Willson Avenue be accepted as completed contingent upon the acceptance by the State Hithway Depart- I ment and that final payment to the contractor be recommended and the motion was carried by the follow- ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Lan- gohr; those voting No, none. Repo-E.~:_ The following reports were presentd: Water Collec tor Cashier The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended they be approved. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be approved and fordered filed . 52 The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote; Those voting Aye betng Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr: those voting No, none.
