HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-11-04 57 Bozeman, Montana 4 November 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 4 November 1970, at 1:00 o'clock P~ M. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. I Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 28 October 1970 were approved as read. Authority to Attend League of Cities Meeting: Commission & MRnager, Helena 18-19 November 1970: It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the City Commission and the City Manager be authorized to attend the meeting of the Montana League of Cities Board of Directors and Legislative Committees to be held in Helena, 18-19 November 1970, and the expenses be paid from the General fund and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports for October: The following reports were presented for October: Fire Chief Building Inspector Police Judge Director of Finance (Sept) The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended their approval. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Claims for October: C 1a im No's. 9193 thru 9448 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band 25.00 PERS 1,696.52 Cemetery 2,444.79 . Planning Board 65.32 Cem. Susp. 600.00 Police Reserve 2,262.70 Garbage 9,685.97 SDS 7,212.50 General 28,849.31 S tree t 6,976.12 I Library 2,357.91 Water 15,511.11 Park 3,182.66 Cem. Perm. Care 150.00 Parking Mtr.l,226.57 New Sewer Const. 4,445.87 Total $86,692.35 The City Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. House Mover Bond: Forrest L. Zion - Great Falls, Montana: In accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 785, the Building Movers Bond issued by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Insurance Company as surety for a moving permit on Forrest L. Zion, Great Falls, Montana, to the City of Bozeman, in the amount of $2,000.00 was presented. The Building Inspector recommended tha t the rond be approved and it having been approved as to form by the City Attorney, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Tribute to Dr. Norman Hanson's Family: Mayor Langohr and the City Commission 'officially noted the death of Dr. Norman Hanson and it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that an appropriate letter of condolence be addressed to the widow and family of Dr. Norman Hanson and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; I those voting No, none. i\djournment: There being was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye ommiss- ioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. r I I ATTEST: ) , ..}/ I ' i'" ( ." ,/'" , ..../J ..... t:. .
