HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-11-12 59 Bozeman, Montana 12 November 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Bu ild ing, 12 November 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Attorney Andriola and the Clerk. Mayor Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 4 November 1970 were approved as read. I Minutes of the special meeting held Friday, 6 November were approved as read. LLcense Bond - City Service Plumbing and Heating: In compliance with Chapter 15 of the Bozeman Municipal Code, the Plumbing and Heating License Bond of City Service Plumbing and Heating, Billings, was presented. The City Manager stated the Building Inspector had recommended the approval of the above mentioned bond and the Ass't City Attorney had approved the bond as to form. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the bond be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Commission Resolution No. 1446 Commemorating Maurice E. Henderson: Mayor Langohr officially noted the death of Maurice E. Henderson, City Manager retired. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the following Commission Resolu- tion be passed and adopted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1446 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN COMMEMORATING THE SERVICE OF MAURICE E, HENDERSON. Final Acceptance and Payment of SID No. 493 and SID No. 494: The Certificate of the engineer of Thomas, Dean & Hoskins and Associates on Special Improvement District No. 493 and Special Improvement District No. 494 stating the construction has been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications was presented. The City Manager concurred in the recommendation of the engineers and recommended that the project be accepted and final payment made and that final acceptance and payment does not relieve the contractor of the responsibility for ne- I gligence or faulty material or workmanship within the extent and period provided by law: It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that as recommended, the projects be accepted as completed and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment of same to Long Construction Company, Billings, in the amount of $4,375.00 for SID No. 493 and $4,055.22 for SID No. 494 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Repor ts : The reports were presented as follows: Librarian Chief of Police Cashier The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Claims: C 1a im No's. 9456 thru 9506 inclusive were presented on the various funds as follows: Band .22 Parking Meter $ 561. 53 Dr. Educ. $ 1,016.00 Cemetery 2,570.16 Planning Bd. 20.00 PL&P 18,500.00 Garbage l,127.28 SDS 797.89 New Sewer 95,869.62 General 4,426.60 SID's 8,595.83 Walks & Curbs 128.01 Library 221.22 Street 3,272.69 $149,255.74 Park 5,702.99 Water 6,445.70 The City Manager checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City I of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance be directed to issue warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioaer Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
