HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-09-09 40 Bozeman, Montana September 9, 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 9 September 1970, at 1:00 o'clook p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow, C Lty Manager Frys lie, Ci ty Attorney Berg and the Acting Clerk. Mayor Langohr opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceed ings were had: Minutes of the regular meeting held 2 September 1970 were read and it was moved by Commissioner I Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the minutes be approved as corrected and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Lsngohrj those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that Myrna Thompson be designated acting Clerk of the Commission during the absence of the Clerk, 4 September 1970 to 20 September 1970 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Annexation of Homesite & Stevens Subdivision: -~~.~-_._---~_. --_...-.- Tom Shane appeared before the Commission to express his views as to the possible annexation of Tracts 17, 18, 19 & 20 of the Homesite Addition. Following a discussion it was moved by Commissioner Morrow. seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the petition be tabled for further study as recommended by the City Manager and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. Closing Time for Taverns: A further discussion was held in regard to the petition submitted by ten licensed tavern owners within the City of Bozeman asking to change the 1:00 o'clock A.M. closing to 2:00 o'clock A.M. In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that City Attorney Berg be instructed to draft an ordinance to this effec t for consideration at the next regular meeting of the Commission and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor I Langohrj those voting No, none. The Alley Agreement concerning the alley in Block B, Original Townsite of Bozeman between the City and the First National Bp~k of Bozeman was presented. The Agreement will permit reallignment of this privately owned alley to accommodate the proposed remodeling and expansion program of the bank buildin~. Following a discussion and upon recommendation of the City Manager it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the Alley Agreement be approved as recommended and the Mayor and the Clerk be authorized and directed to execute the instrument on behalf of the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Sr:divy. seconded hy ComMissioner Harrow, that permission to stage the parade as requested be granted and the motion was carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy. City Manager be de- I signaled as Acting City Manager during this period, and it being in the public interest the expenses be paid by the City and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. It was moved by 41 Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Mnrrow and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded byCommissioner Sedivy, that the claims be approved and the motion was carried by the followin~ Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none.
