HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-09-23 44 Bozeman, Montana 23 September 1970 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 23 September 1970, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy, Acting City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Sedivy opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had: Minutes of the regular session held 16 September 1970 were read and it was moved by Commissioner I Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the minutes be approved as read and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that permission to hold their annual Light Bulb Sale be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. M. McDonald Company, calling attention to the "Match of Champions" Rodeo to be held at the Montana State University Fieldhouse, 2-3 October 1970, was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the request be approved contingent upon the approval of the City of Bozeman Sign Code and upon the removal of the banner immediately following the rodeo and that the fee for placing of the banner be waived and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Comm~ issioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Commission Resolution No. 1439 - Assessing Weeds Abatement for 1970 - $1,804.00 Provisional Passage - Hearing 30 September 1970: Resolution No. 1439 levying the assessment in the total amount of $1,804.00 for the exterminat- ion and removal of noxios weeds for the year 1970 was presented. 45 COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1439 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN LEVYING AND ASSESSING A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF TAXES UPON CERTAIN PROP- ERTIES IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, COUNTY OF GALLATIN, STATE OF MONTANA, TO DEFRAY THE COST OF EXTERMINATION AND REMOVAL OF NOXIOUS WEEDS FOR THE YEAR 1970, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 6.50 OF THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL CODE. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the resolution be I provisionally passed and adopted and 30 September 1970 be set as the date for public hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Commission Resolution No. 1444 - Intent to Vacate Alley in Block 3 Tracy's Third Addition Hearing 21 October 1970: COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 144ft A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, DECLARING IT TO BE THE INTENTION OF SAID COMMISSION TO VACATE THE DEDICATED ALLEY IN BLOCK 3, TRACY'S THIRD ADDITION TO BOZEMAN, MONTANA. Prepared by the City Attorney as directed by the Commission was presented. In concurrence wi th the recommendation of the Acting City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commiss- ioner Sedivy, that Resolution No. 1444 be passed and adopted and 21 October 1970 be set as the date for public hearing and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those vo ting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. Bozeman Senior High School - Request to hold Snake Dance, Friday, 25 September 1970, 8:00 p.m: Homecoming Parade 10:00 A.M., Saturday, 3 October 1970: A request from the Bozeman Senior High School, for permission to stage a "Snake Dance" on Main Street on Friday, 2S September at 8:00 o'clock p.m. and conduct a "Homecoming Parade" on Sat- urday, 3 October at 10:00 o'clock A.M. was presented. Police Sergeant Tate stated that to his knowledge the events would not create a traffic problem and they would escort both the "Snake Dance" and the "Homecoming parade" down Main Street. The Acting City Manager recommended the request be I gran ted. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that permission to stage the "Snake Dance" on Friday, 25 September and to conduct the "Homecoming Parade" on Saturday, 3 October be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohr; those voting No, none. Reports: The report of the Sewage Disposal Plant Operator was presented for August. The Ac ting City Manager commented on the report and recommended the approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy, that the report be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow, Commiss- ioner Sedivy and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. ~<!lournmen t : There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissi.oner Sed ivy, seconded by Commissioner Morrow, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: thoae voting Aye bei~~mmisSioner ~OfVY.
