HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-07-14 15 BozemalJl, Montana 14 July 1970 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION I The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in ~ecial Session pursuant to Call by the City Manager in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, 14 July 1970 at 9:00 o'clock a.m. Present were Mayor Langohr, Commissioner Morrow, City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Absence of Commissioner Sedivy - 14 July 1970: In concurrence with the recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Morrow, seconded by Mayor Langohr, that the absence of Commissioner Sedivy be authorized in com- pliance with Section 2.08.060 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. The motion was carried by the Following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Morrow and Mayor Langohrj those voting No, none. Review Preliminary Planning for Budget for Fiscal Year: It was reported by the City Manager that this special meeting was called to review prelim- inary planning for the budget for the fiscal year ending 30 June 1971. A general discussion was had of basic policies for the overall operation of the City Government. Mr. Virgil L. Buettner and Mr. Robert Rampy of the Bozeman Teamsters, Chauffers, Warehousemen I and Helpers - Local 53 attended the meeting and advised the Commission that they have requested an increase of sot per hour for the maintenance crew, holidays, longivity, a signed agreement and that the proposed items become effective 1 July 1970. Following a discussion, the City Manager advised Mr. Buettner and Mr. Rampy, that the requests would be taken under advisement and that a memorandum agreement would be drafted by the City Attorney for examination and made a part of the records. Bozeman Fire Fighters -- Bozeman Police Protective Association: Douglas Drysdale, Attorney at Law, was present to represent the Bozeman Fire Fighters Assoc- iation and the Bozeman Police Protective Association. A discussion was held in regard to wages, holidays, etc. The City Manager advised Mr. Drysdale, that he was prepared to give their request every possible consideration, however, he pointed out that such consideration would be governed by the fund limited by State Law that can be made available for such consideration.
