MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION
7:00 O'Clock P. M.
Monday, 5 January, 1976
This being the time and place designated by law (Section 11-3249, R.C.M., 1947, and Chapter
2.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code) for the organization of the City Commission in accordance with I
results of the regular municipal election held 4 November 1975, the City Commission Met at 7:00
o'clock p.m. on Monday, 5 January 1976, in the CommissionRoom, Municipal Building, for organization
purposes and the transaction of unfinished business. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, City Manager Fryslie, Assist-
ant City Manager Wolf, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Lehrkind opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had.
Reorganization of City Commission
This was the time and place set by Montana Statute for the reorganization of the City Commission
as per the results of the Regular Municipal Election held in 1975. Retiring Mayor Edmund P. Sedivy,
Sr., having concluded all unfinished business to be brought before the Commission at this time,
expressed his appreciation for the support given to him by Commissione~Vollmer, Vandeventer,
Taylor and Lehrkind.
Outgoing Mayor Sedivy then turned the Mayor's gavel over to incoming Mayor Vollmer.
Commissioner Sedivy and Commissioner Vandeventer having qualified for a new four year term were
then seated as were Commissioners Lehrkind, and Taylor.
Mayor Vollmer reviewed a summary of the City's outstanding accomplishments during Mayor Sedivys
leadership and concluded by presenting him with an engraved City of Bozeman key as a token of
appreciation for his splendid services.
Mayor Vollmer stated he expected to continue the program in any way contributing to the "Better-
ment" of the City of Bozeman and pointed out that working as a team would be of great importance.
Adjournment I
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the meeting be adjourned and the
motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vande-
venter, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Sedivy and Mayor Vollmer; those
voting No, none.
