HomeMy WebLinkAbout1975-09-02 348 Bozeman, Montana 2 September 1975 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in special session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, Tuesday, 2 September 1975, pursuant to the provisions of Section 11-718, 11-2312, and 11-3207, R.C.M., 1947. Present were Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer, Ornnmissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, City Manager Fryslie and the Clerk. Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had. Absence of Mayor Sedivy - Commissioner Vollmer, President Pro-tempore Upon recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the absence of Mayor Sedivy be authorized in compliance with Section 11-3245, R.C.M., 1947, and that Commissioner Vollmer be designated President Pro-tempore, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Qrnmmissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, and President Pro-tempore Vollmer; those voting No, none. Canvassing Votes of Primary Nominating Election The purpose of the special meeting was to canvass the votes of the City of Bozeman nominating election held on Tuesday, 26 August 1975, in accordance with Sections 11-718, 11-2312 and 11-3207 of the R.C.M., 1947. Tabulation of Election Returns Under the provisions of Section 11-718, Section 11-2312 and Section 11-3207, R.C.M., 1947, the City Commission assisted by the Clerk of the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns. The canvas showed that a total of 1,905 electors voted representing 18 percent of the qualified electors. McNab and Eleanor Pratt be declared candidates for the election to be held I on Tuesday, 4 November 1975, at which time two commissioners will be elected. The Clerk of the Commission was instructed and directed to issue a certificate of nomination to each candidate and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, and President Pro-tempore Vollmer; those vot ing No, none. 350 t.,...
