Municipal Building. 9 July 1975. at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy. Commissioner Vollmer. Commi- ssioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Lehrkind. City Manager Fryslie. Assistant City Manager Wolf, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Commissioner Lehrkind opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had. Minutes of the regular meeting held on Wednesday. 2 July 1975, were approved as read. Application for Temporary Beer License - Gallatin Empire Lions Club A request from the Gallatin Empire Lions Club for permission to obtain a City Beer License for the weekend of 12-13 and 19-20 July, 1975. along with the required fee was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer. seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer. that the Gallatin Empire Lions Club. having met all requirements. be granted a license to sell beer at the North Grand Park on the weekend of 12-13 and 19-20 July. and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No Vote; those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none. Use of ParkinK Spaces During Crazy Days - Kawanis Club of the BridKers. 18 July 1975 Bozeman Chamber of Commerce - Crazy Days. 18 July 1975 A letter received from the Kawanis Club of the Bridgers requesting permission to establish a no parking area downtown on 18 July in connection with Crazy Days was presented. The area involved is on South Tracy Avenue beginning at Main Street and continuing south to the Alley. involving four parking meters and one loading zone. all on the east side of South Tracy. It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer. seconded by Commissioner Taylor. that the Commission grant the Kawanis Club of the Bridgers permission to establish a no parking area downtown in conn- ection with Crazy Days. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye Being Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none. A letter received from the Bozeman Chamber of Commerce requesting permission to hold a Sidewalk Bazaar Day on Friday. 18 July 1975 was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Taylor. seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind. that authority for the merchants of Main Street to hold their annual Sidewalk Bazaar on Friday. 18 July. be granted and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none. I I Report of Fire Chief The City Manager commented on the report of the Fire Chief and recommended approval thereof. It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind. seconded by Commissioner Vollmer. that the report of the Fire Chief be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer. Comm- issioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none. Sidewalks - North of Peach Street. Sybil T. Haugland & Mr. & Mrs. Al Jesser Mrs. Sybil T. Haugland appeared before the Commission in regard to construction of Sidewalks north of Peach Street. She stated that twenty-five years ago property owners living south of Peach Street were requested to put in sidewalks and were assured that all property owners north of Peach Street would be required to do the same. The property owners north of Peach Street have not been required to construct the sidewalks as of this date and Mrs. Haugland and Mr. & Mrs. Al Jesser ex- pressed their concern as to why this situation had been allowed to continue. ResiKnation of Board Members - Allen Green. Community Recreation Board Carl Lehrkind. City-County Planning Board Mayor Sedivy stated it was with regret that he accept the resignation of Allen Green as a member of the Community Recreation Board and expressed his appreciation for services rendered by Mr. Green I while he was on the Community Recreation Board. Mayor Sedivy announced that it was with regret that he accept the resignation of Carl Lehrkind as a member of the City-County Planning Board and extended his appreciat:Lon and thanks for his time and efforts as a member of the Planning Board. Appointment of Robert A. Taylor. Planning Board to 31 December 1977 Mayor Sedivy announced his appointment of Commissioner Robert A. Taylor as amember of the City County Planning Board to 31 December 1977. I I I It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer. seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer. that the Commission concur in the Mayor's appointment of Commissioner Taylor to the City-County Planning Board. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Lehrkind and Mayor Sedivy; Commissioner Taylor abstained. Mayor Sedivy announced his reappointment of Robert Evans to the Bozeman Parking Commission for a period of four years, ending 30 June 1979. It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor. that the Commission concur in the Mayor's reappointment of Robert Evans to the Bozeman Parking Commission for a period of four years and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none. ResiKnation of Ralph Dunahoo - Water Superintendent as of 8 AUKust 1975 The City Manager stated it was with deep regret that he accept the resignation of Ralph Dunahoo, Water Superintendent. effective 8 August 1975. Mr. Dunahoo has accepted a position with Northwest Pipe Utilities Division of Billings. Montana. Claims for June 1975 Claim Number 21055 thru 21260 and 9691 thru 9902 inclusive was presented. Sharing 5,159.00 P.E.R.S. 3.476.87 Walks & Curbs 1975 262.27 Planning Board 2,575.98 The City Manager had checked the claims and found them to be true and lawful claims against the City of Bozeman and recommended they be approved and the Director of Finance he instructed and directed to issue warrants in payment. It was moved by Commissioner, Taylor. seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind. that the claims be approved as presented and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vande- venter and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none. Don Nell. Medical Arts Center - Request to Widen No. Tracy from Mendenhall Street to Villard Street Don Nell of the Medical Arts Center appeared before the Commission to request widening North Tracy Avenue from Mendenhall Street to Villard Street. The Commission thanked Mr. Nell for attending the meeting and turned the request over to the Engineering staff for review and recommendation. Adiournment There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by Commissioner Taylor, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind. that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor.
