The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room. Municipal
Building. 2 July. 1975. at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy. Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Lehrkind. City Manager Fryslie, Assist-
ant City Manager Wolf. City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on Wednesday. 25 June 1975. were approved as read. I
Authority to Attend FBI Academy Retraining - Captain Harold McDowell
A letter received from Captain Hal McDowell requesting permission to attend the Pacific North-
west Chapter Retraining Session sponsored by the FBI National Academy Associates. to be held in Salt
Lake City. Utah, on 20-23 July. 1975. was presented.
It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer. that Captain Hal
McDowell be granted permission to attend the retraining session and. it bei~in the public interest
his expenses be paid from the General fund, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor.
Commissioner Lehrkind and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none.
Application for Kennel License - Mrs. Vincent Egbert, 1305 South Willson Avenue
An application received from Mrs. Vincent Egbert. 1305 South Willson Avenue, requesting a
kennel license in accordance with Ordinance No. 857, Section 5.16.040 of the Bozeman Municipal
Code, together with the required fee was presented.
The City Manager and the Chief of Police stated they were not aware of any reason to deny the
kennel license and it was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor. that
the application be approved and the Director of Finance be instructed to issue a license in accord-
ance therewith. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being
Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vollmer, and
Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Application for Abatement of Sidewalk Orders
The following property owners requested a sidewalk variance for a period ofone year. I

Following a thorough discussion, it was moved by Commissioner Taylor. seconded by Commissioner
Lehrkind. that they concur in the recommendation of the City Engineer. also concurred in by the City
Manager, that the above applications requesting a sidewalk variance be approved for a period of one
year. and the motion waS carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commi-
ssioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Vollmer. and Mayor
Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Authority to Call for Bids: Recreation Complex Bleachers. Opening 16 July 1975
Plans and specifications for the installation of Bleachers at the Recreation Complex as prepared
by Morrison-Maierle. Inc., was placed before the Commission.
In concurrence with the consulting engineers. the City Manager recommended that the plans and
specifications as presented be approved and that a "Call for Bids" for the installation of bleachers
at the Recreation Complex with an opening date of 16 July 1975, be authorized.
It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the Commission I
concur in the recommendation of the City Manager and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and
directed to publish a "Call for Bids" with an opening date of 16 July 1975, and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner
Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none.
Application for Gambling Licenses: a) St. George & the Dragon - Card Tables
b) F. O. E. #326 - Annual Bingo
The City Manager presented the following applications and appropriate fees for a Gambling
License for the purpose of operating card tables and annual bingo license.

It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the Commi-
ssion concur in the recommendation of the City Manager and approve the applications for the issuance
of the Gambling license. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Lehrkind.
and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended approval thereof.
It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer. seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the reports
be approved and ordered filed and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
Voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner
Vollmer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none.
Support the Headwaters of the Missouri River Celebration
It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the Commission
support the Headwaters of the Missouri River Celebration in their efforts to have this area designated
as a historical point of interest as a part of the Bicentennial celebration in concurrence with a
request from Mrs. Andriola. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vollmer.
and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time. it was moved by
Commissioner Taylor, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind. that the meeting be adjourned and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor. Commi-
ssioner Lehrkind. Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No.
none.
