Hello,
This message is for the Design Review Board and the Commission. I'm
writing out of concern for public participation during the DRB meeting
scheduled this Wednesday, Nov. 9, on the Black/Olive development.
I'm told the developer can unilaterally cancel the meeting due to delay
in completing revisions, and if he does, that the meeting may be
rescheduled for Nov. 23, Thanksgiving week, which in my opinion would
depress the opportunity for public information and participation.
If there is compelling reason to reschedule, I respectfully request that
the new date NOT be during Thanksgiving week, but put off until December
7 to enable greater attendance and participation by the concerned
public. As you know, this and similar development proposals are
attracting strong interest in the community, and in my opinion, the City
must do all it can to welcome public involvement, not depress it.
My direct concern is for the precedent that would be created by this
project; I am a neighbor of the proposed Pizza Hut development and very
much opposed to the scale and model of both these developments.

The Black Olive Project DRB meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November 9.
We, the people believe that under no circumstances should this meeting
be rescheduled to November 23, the day before Thanksgiving.
This change would detrimentally affect the public’s ability to attend
and make public comment.
We believe that any efforts by the Developer or other entities to change
this meeting to the day before Thanksgiving are unacceptable.
