HomeMy WebLinkAbout2002-07-16 Minutes, City Commission, SPECMINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COMMISSION BOZEMAN, MONTANA July 16, 2002 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in special session in the Weaver Room of the Emerson Center for the Arts and Culture at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2002. Present were Mayor Steve Kirchhoff, Commissioner Jarvis Brown, Commissioner Marcia Youngman, City Manager Clark Johnson and Director of Public Service Debbie Arkell. Since a quorum of the Commission was present, Commissioner Youngman took minutes. Downtown Bozeman Traffic Improvement Study Stakeholders Meetinq A quorum of the Commission and key staff members of the City of Bozeman participated in the Downtown Bozeman Traffic Improvement Study Stakeholders Meeting sponsored by the Downtown Bozeman Partnership. Representatives of a consulting firm, SEH, described the study they are undertaking to develop ideas on how "to modify downtown Bozeman streets so that they support a sense that one is arriving at a commercial destination." The study will address improved parking availability and access, pedestrian and bicycle enhancements, and roadway network and circulation options. The goal is to have a final plan to submit to the Transportation Coordinating Committee, the Montana Department of Transportation, the City Commission, and the public by January 2003. In this preliminary meeting, no public policy options were discussed. Adjournment - 8:30 p.m. There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m. MARCIA B.
