Dear Bozeman Planning Staff,
I believe the car sharing parking spot allotment (1 car share spot = 5 standard spots) as beingproposed for the Black-Olive apartment project is unrealistic. Suggest therefore your staff do a detailedassessment of the practicality of car sharing at this large apartment complex. For example does any carsharing parking spots exist within the city? If so: are ride sharing vehicles being used at these location; who purchases and owns these vehicles; who pays for vehicle maintenance and operation; how is useof share vehicles decided; are these parking spots permanently restricted for car share vehicles (notother vehicles); and, are building owners (and all subsequent owners) responsible party for assuringthat share parkings sports are indeed created and solely used for car sharing?
If the City endorses the use of the 1 for 5 shared parking spaces then building/zoning permits shouldrequire that the builder and subsequent owners as well have legal responsibility for purchasing theshared vehicles, constructing the share parking spots and for having an active and continuing carsharing program at this building.
Please include my email in your review file for the Black-Olive apartment project.
Thank you.
