The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 20 November 1974, at l:lS o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Sedivy, Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor. City Manager Fryslie, Ass't. City Manager Wolf, Acting
City Attorney Morgan and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vollmer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following Proceedings were had.
Minutes of the regular meeting held on Wednesday. 13 November 1974, were approved as read. I
Authorize Absence of Commissioner Lehrkind
Upon recommendation of the City Manager, it was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Comm-
issioner Vandeventer, that the absence of Commissioner Lehrkind be authorized in compliance with

Section ll-3245, R.C.M., 1974 and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting
Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those
voting No, none.
Report: Planning Department Review of Commercial Zoning
Stan Steadman of the City-County Planning Department appeared before the Commission to report on
a review of Commercial Zoning in the Bozeman area. The Commissioners received this report and expressed
their thanks and appreciation to the various members who have given so much of th~ time and effort
in preparing the repo rt .
Hearings:
a) McKean-Michel Request to Rezone 38 Acres - AS to B-2 North of 191 and West of City
This was the time and place for a public hearing to consider the application of Ramona Michel
McKean and Albert J. Michel for a zoning change from "AS" to "B-2" of a 38-acre tract, said property
being located between the Mountain Bell warehouse and the Montana Fish and Game land, on U.S. Highway
No. 191.
The Bozeman Zoning Commission, having held a public hearing and having reviewed the application,
recommended approval thereof.
It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer. seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that they concur in
the recommendation of the Bozeman Zoning Commission and approve the application of Ramona Michel I
McKean and Albert J. Michel for a zoning change from "AS" to B-2". The motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer and
Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, being CommissionerTaylor.
b) Continued - Buronepe Co.. Request to Rezone Former Southern Montana Veterinary Clinic -
AS to B-2
The request of Buronepe Company. formerly known as the Gallatin Valley Veterinary Clinic. to
change the zone classification from "AS" to "B-2" on a 150' X 300' parcel of land located just east
of the Montana Fish and Game Building on U. S. Highway No. 191, having been continued for a period
of one month to allow adjoining property owners an opportunity to make application for a zoning change.

The Bozeman Zoning Commission, having held a public hearing and in light of a recommendation to
rezone the McKean-Michel property, recommended approval of the application for a zoning change from
"AS" to "B-2".
The Commission concurred with the recommendation of the Bozeman Zoning Commission. and it was
moved by Commissioner Taylor. seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that they approve the zone classifi-
cation change from "AS" to "B-2", and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those
voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor. Commissioner Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Sedivy;
those voting No, none.
Vacation for City Manager - 22-29 November 1974.
The City Manager requested that he be granted vacation leave of absence from 22-29 November,
inclusive, and that the Assistant City Manager be designated to perform the duties of the City Manager I
during this time.
It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the request be
granted and Assistant City Manager Wolf be designated as the Acting City Manager during this period,
and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer,
Commissioner Vandeventer. Commissioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.

The City Manager commented on the above reports and recommended approval thereof. It was
moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor. that the reports be approved
and ordered filed, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye
being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Vollmer and Mayor Sedivy; those

License Bond: JameS Caffrey - Master Plumber, $5,000.00
In compliance with Chapter 16 of the Bozeman Municipal Code. the Master Plumber License Bond of
James Caffrey in the amount of $5,000.00 was presented. The Building Inspector had approved the
Certificate, and the Acting City Attorney approved the bond as to form. It was moved by Commiss-
ioner Taylor, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer. that the above be approved. and the motion was
carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner
Vollmer. Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Sedivy; those voti ng No, none.
Resignation: Director of Finance - 31 December 1974
The City Manager advised the Commission that it was with regret that he accepted the resignation
of William J. Verwolf, Director of Finance of the City of Bozeman, effective 31 December 1974. The
commission concurred with the City Manager and acknowledged the resignation of the Director of Finance.
Application for Gambling Licens~: Gallatin Valley Talent Exchange Coordination Service - Raffle -
24 November 1974 - 27 January 1975
The City Manager presented an application from the Gallatin Valley TalentExchange Coordination
Service, along with the required fee. for a single raffle to be held 27 January 1975.
Upon recommendation of the City Manager. it was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by
Commissioner Vandeventer, that they approve the application for the Raffle to be held on 27 January
1975, and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner
Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Taylor and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none.
Ad;ournment
I There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by
Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion
was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commiss-
ioner Taylor. Commissioner Vandeventer and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No. none.
