Message: My husband and I have lived on Lindley Place for over 30 years. We understand that
growth is inevitable, but we are hoping it will be smart growth. We are opposed to the Black
Olive building, as presently proposed, as we feel it will adversely impact traffic and parking on
already crowded and narrow streets . Olive is currently a difficult to navigate street-especially
on a bike and during special events. We have also had our driveway blocked numerous times
and cars left in front of our house for days to over a week at a time, and feel that a building
without adequate parking will only make things worse. We feel that a five or six story building is
not appropriate bordering a historical district with mostly single family dwellings. For future
development, we would appreciate it if you would re-evaluate the appropriateness of the
current plan for downtown development , especially the impacts of high density buildings on
traffic and parking, which is already a problem during downtown events and will only get worse
with the current growth rate. Please also consider the effect on quality of life for long
established neighborhoods that have been supporting downtown businesses for years. Please
also send this comment to the Design Review Committee/Board. Thank you.
