few houses up from the proposed apartment complex.
I am terribly concerned about the parking situation for this apartment complex. I
don't think this developer understands the impact it will have on our neighborhood.
As commissioners, you should! And that is only ONE element of concern.
Already on South Black with no parking on one side of the street, there is barely
enough parking for people living along the street. My home is 308 South Black. I
can testify to seeing people park directly across from our home and walk to
downtown for work.
If there are not at least two parking spaces provided for each apartment, I can
guarantee there will be overflow into the neighborhood.
His opinion that people will carpool to work and play is ludicrous. Bozeman is a town
of outdoor activities.
Please try to remember that our historical district in Bozeman will be compromised
by letting this project "get it's foot" in the door. You have an obligation to the
residents of the neighborhood above that of one developer who has already proven
that he cannot be trusted to finish his projects as presented. If approved, he will
build, and move on leaving the surrounding neighborhood to deal with the
repercussions.
Please give this project serious consideration as if you lived next door to it.
