The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, Municipal
Building, 12 December 1973, at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Y[ayor Grabow, Commissioner Sedivy,
Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Hanager Fryslie, Assistant
City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings ",ere

The engineers representing consultants Thomas, Dean and Hoskins, Inc., and the City Engineer having
completed their stud,v of the bids submitted for the construction of the Hulti-Purpose paving which
includes reconstructing of some paved tennis areas at Bogert Grove and paved areas on various elemen-
tary school sites and having prepared a final tabulation of the bids recommended that the bid be awarded
to Bozeman Blacktop on the basis of their low bid of $42,136.00 contingent upon the contractor being
able to provide the required performance and material bonds and complete contract documents for the
proposed project.
The Commission concurred with the recommendation of the engineers, also concurred in by the City
Manager and it was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that Bozeman Black-
top, Bozeman, be awarded the bid on the basis of their low bid in the amount of $1~2,136.00 contingent
upon the contractor being able to provide the required performance and material bonds and completing
the contract documents for the project and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote:
those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commis-
sioner Vollmer, and !1ayor Grabow; those voting No, none.

The official bond and Oath of Office in the amount of $5,000.00 as required by Ordinance Ho. 521~,
Chapter 2.08.020 of the Bozeman Municipal Codes for Mayor Elect James W. Vollmer of the City of Bozeman
was presented. The bond covers a renewal period of four years, beginning 1 January 1974 and ending
31 December 1977. It was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that
the bond be approved as recommended by the City Attorney and the motion was carried by the following
Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner
Sedivy, Commissioner Vollmer, and l.'layor Grabow; those voting No, none.
Presentation of Gift for Police Department - Bozeman Lions Club.
Several members of the Bozeman Lions Club were present to make a presentation of a monetary gift
in the amount of $596.98 to the Chief of Police in behalf of the Police Department to be used on various
programs. It was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the gift
be accepted on behalf of the Police Department and that an expression of appreciation and thanks be con-
veyed to the Bozeman Lions Club for their generous presentation. The motion was carried by the follow.-
ing Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner
Lehrkind, Commissioner Sedivy, and Hayor Grabow; those votinr: No, none.
Final Plat - Sunrise Acres Subdivision
The final plat of the Sunrise Acres Subdivision 1vaS presented alonp: with the favorable recommenda-.
tion of the City-County Planning Board.

Noting that the plat conformed generally with the I,faster Plat, the City Hanager recommended that
the plat be approved as presented. It was moved by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Sedivy,
that the plat be approved as recommended and that the City Hanager be authorized and directed to sign
the plat as the Director of Public Service and the motion was carried by the following Aye and No
vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Vandeventer,
Commissioner Lehrkind, and Mayor Grabow; those voting Ho, none.

The City Manager commented on the reports and recommended approval thereof. It was moved by Com-
missioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the reports be approved and ordered filed and
the motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Sedivy,
Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, and Mayor Grabow; those voting
No, none.
National League of Cities Conference held in San Juan - Edmund P. Sedi~
Commissioner Sedivy reported on his attendance to the 50th National League of Cities Conference
held in San Juan, Puerto Rico, 2-6 December 1973.
Mayor Grabow extended the appreciation of the Commission on Commissioner Sedivy's comprehensive and
constructive report.

There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Com-
missioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the meeting be adjourned and the motion was
