The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, r~unicipal
Building, 14 November 1973 at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Grabmr, Commissioner Sedivy, Com-
missioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager ~ryslie, Assistant
Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had.

Minutes of the regular meeting held 7 November 1973 were approved as read.
Hinutes of the Special ~eeting were approved and corrected.

This was the time and place set for opening bids for one new all metal building for the Sanitation
Department of the City of Bozeman. The affidavit of publication of the Call for Bids was presented.
It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the bids be opened and read.

Upon recommendation of the City Hanager, it was moved by Commissioner Vandeventer, seconded by
Commissioner Vollmer, that the bids be referred to the City Rnpineer and the Cemetery Department for

Mr. John Rykel president of the Bozeman Downtown Development Association appeared to maJ:e a pre-
sentation of the Bozeman Central Business District Study. He informed the Commission that they "ranted
to keep the Commission informed as to what they have done.
Following a discussion. the Commission thanked ~!r. ,John Rykel and the other directors for coming
down and making the presentation.

Action having been delayed for a period of one vreek on the ./lnnexation of Bozeman Creek Area No.
1 fOr the purpose of further investigation of the protests was again brought before the Commission.
The City Engineers and staff members through investigation found that there were thirty-three
resident freeholders in the area and out of the thirt~r-three residents fifteen protested and eighteen
dJd not protest the annexation, therefore the Cit~r Manager recommended that Commission Resolution No.
1634 to accomplish the extension of the Cit~r Limits, entitled:

Plans submitted by Claire Daines for the Re-Arrangement of Block 8, Thompsons Fourth Addition
along with favorable recommendation of the City-County Planning Board with the stinulation that Lot
1 be rearranged in order to provide for a proper buildin~ site was presented.
Following a discussion, the Commission concurred with the recommendation of the City County Plan-
ning Board, also concurred in by the City Hanager and it was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded
by Commissioner Vandeventer, that they approve the nlans for the re-arrangement as nresented and that
the City Manager be authorized and directed to sign the nlans for the re".arrangement and the motion was

Vollmer, that the City Manager acknowledge receipt of the reouest and that the issue be referred to the
City Staff and the Planning Staff for their recommendation. The motion was carried by the following

volving B.O.R. money was placed before the Commission. In concurrence with the consulting enp,ineers,
the City Manager recommended that the plans and specifications as presented be approved and that a "Call
for construction Bids" be authorized. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commi.ssioner
Lehrkind, that the plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized

The 50th Annual Conference of the National Leap:ue of Cities is scheduled to be held in San <Tuan,
Puerto Rico, 2-6 December 1973 and the City Manager recommended that Hayor Blect EdJ11.und P. Sedivy be
authorized to attend the conference.
It was moved by Commissioner Lehrki.nd, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that Hayor Elect Edmund
P. Sedivy be authorized to attend the conference and, it being in the public interest his expenses be
