HomeMy WebLinkAbout1973-11-14 ,,... 22 Bozeman, Montana 14 November 1973 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in regular session in the Commission Room, r~unicipal Building, 14 November 1973 at 1:15 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor Grabmr, Commissioner Sedivy, Com- missioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner Vollmer, City Manager ~ryslie, Assistant Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following proceedings were had. I City Manager Keyes, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk. Minutes of the regular meeting held 7 November 1973 were approved as read. The affidavit of publication of the Call for Bids was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commissioner Lehrkind, that the bids be opened and read. and. the motion was carried. by the following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye beinp: Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner VollMer, and ~~ayor Grabow; those voting No, none. The following bids were then opened and read: Edsall Construction, Bozeman Harvey Construction, BozeMan $22,920.00 14,385.00 Upon recommendation of the City Manager it was moved by Commissioner SediVJr, seconded by COMmissioner Lehrkind, that the bids be referred to the City Engineer for tabulation and recommendation to be made I to the Commission at their next meeting on Hednesday, 21 November 1973. De'Le].2pmen~ Mr. John Rykel president of the Bozeman Downtown Development Association appeared to maJ:e a pre- sentation of the Bozeman Central Business District Study. He informed the Commission that they "ranted to keep the Commission informed as to what they have done. Following a discussion. the Commission thanked ~!r. ,John Rykel and the other directors for coming down and making the presentation. g.2..~i.!!!si9-n Re_s_olution No. ~93LAT1E..~2'ati.Q!l Bozer.J.an Creek Al'_ea Nq.!-.l-.-:~ Action having been delayed for a period of one vreek on the ./lnnexation of Bozeman Creek Area No. 1 fOr the purpose of further investigation of the protests was again brought before the Commission. The City Engineers and staff members through investigation found that there were thirty-three resident freeholders in the area and out of the thirt~r-three residents fifteen protested and eighteen dJd not protest the annexation, therefore the Cit~r Manager recommended that Commission Resolution No. 1634 to accomplish the extension of the Cit~r Limits, entitled: COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 1634 A RESOLUTION OF THE COI1r/[ISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN EXTENDING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE SAID CITY OF BOZmlfAN SO AS TO EMBRACE A.ND IlrCLlIDE CERTAIN TRACTS OF LAND CDrJTIGUOUS TO THE SAID CITY OF BOZF.PAH AND HEREIN HORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED, HITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS THEREOF. as :oreI'arecl by the City J\ttorney was presented. It was moved by Commissioner Sedivy, seconded by Commi.ssioner Lehrkind, that the plans and specifications be approved and the Clerk of the Commission be authorized and directed to publish a "Call for Bids" for the construction of the Hulti-Pur:nose Paving which includes reconstructing some paved tennis areas at Bogert Grove "ith an opening date of 5 December 1973.
