SUBJECT: North 27th Avenue Expansion Project Notice of Award
MEETING DATE: October 17th, 2016
AGENDA ITEM TYPE: Consent
RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the City Manager’s signature on the Notice of Award to Knife River Belgrade for the Total Base Bid in the amount of $495,376.00.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the Notice of Award for the above referenced project.
The project is to complete the east half of North 27th Avenue between Oak Street and Tschache
Lane. The eastern half of this collector has been in place since 2006, but has remained closed.
The road is deteriorating due to lack of traffic. With the completion of this project, the full street section will be in place from Oak to Baxter and can be fully utilized. The contract is to be
completed within 90 days of the issuance of the notice to proceed.
Bids for the above-referenced project were opened on September 14, 2016 with 1 bid being
submitted. The low bid was submitted by Knife River Belgrade in the amount of $495,376.00.
The Bid Tabulation for the project is attached. See also the consent item for change order number 1 for additional information regarding the contract price for this project.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: Disapprove
FISCAL EFFECTS: The project will be paid for from the Street Impact Fee Fund. At its October 3rd meeting, the Commission approved moving this item to the current fiscal year and increasing the budget to cover the cost of the bid.
