This being the time designated by law (Section 11-3249, R.C.M., 1947) and
Chapter 2.08 of the Bozeman Municipal Code for the reorganization of the City
Commission in accordance with the results of the special Municipal Election held
Tuesday, April 5, 1977, the City Commission met at 10:00 o'clock A.M., May 2,
1977, in the Commission Room, City Hall Building for reorganizational purposes I
and the transaction of unfinished business. Present were Mayor Vollmer, Commis-
sioner Lehrkind, Commissioner Sedivy, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Vandeventer,
City Manager Gesko, Assistant City Manager Wolf, City Attorney Berg and the Clerk.
Commissioner Vandeventer opened the meeting with a prayer and the following
proceedings were had.

Senior Center
Commission Resolution No. 1870 providing for the issuance of General Obl~ga-
tion Bonds of the City of Bozeman in an amount not to exceed $400,000.00 to, provide
building and equipping a new senior center was presented.
A group of Senior Citizens was present in regard to the Resolution for the
sale of the bonds.
The date set for the sale of the bonds is set for August 24, 1977, at 1:30
o'clock p.m. in the City Commission meeting room of the City of Bozeman.
The City Manager explained that the City's Bond Attorney in Minneapolis
said that: I
l. The bond money cannot be used to renovate an existing structure
but had to be used to build a new building.
2. The City could issue up to $400,000.00 in bonds. They do not
have to issue the full $400,000.00.
Following a short" discussion, the Commission concurred in the recommendation
of the City Manager, and it was moved by Commissioner Lehrkind, seconded by Com-
missioner Sedivy, that the Commission pass and adopt Commission Resolution No.
1870 providing for the issuance of General Municipal Obligation Bonds of the City
of Bozeman in an amount not to exceed $000,000.00. The motion was carried by the
following Aye and No vote: those voting Aye being Commissioner Lehrkind, Commis-
sioner Sedivy, Commissioner Taylor, Commissioner Vandeventer, and Mayor Vollmer;
those voting No, none.
Reorganization of City Commission
This was the time and place set in Montana Statute for the reorganization of
the City Commission as per the results of the special municipal election held on
Tuesday, April 5, 1977. All unfinished business to be brought before the Commission
having been concluded, the City Manager reported that the Official Bonds and Oaths I
of Office of Duncan S. MacNab, and Keith D. Swanson, newly elected City Commissioners
and James W. Vollmer, re-elected as City Commissioner, for four-year eight-month
terms commencing May 2, 1977, have been approved and said bonds and oaths of office
are on file in the office of the Clerk of the City Commission.
City Manager Gesko commended the retiring Commissioners and expressed his
appremmation for their dedication while in office. Retiring Mayor Vollmer commended

the other Commissioners, the City Manager1s office, and all other staff members for
their efforts during his term.
The City Manager then presented Mayor Vollmer with a plaque in recognition
of his term as Mayor. An award and a gift were presented to retiring Commissioners
I Lehrkind and Taylor.
Each of the recipients of the awards and gifts acknowledge their appreciation
for such recognition and expressed their views relating to their terms of office.
Each commented that the staff had veen very cooperative, and that the task of munici-
pal office never ends - particularly in a growing City such as Bozeman.
The Clerk of the City Commission administered the Oath of Office ~o incoming
Mayor Sedivy, and the two newly elected Commissioners Duncan S. MacNab and Keith D.
Svianson and re....elected Commissioner Vollmer;
Mayor Sedivy reviewed a summary of the City's outstanding accbmplishments under
Mayor'\lollmer's leadership and thanked him for his splendid service during his term
as Mayor.
Adjournment
There being no further business to come before the Commission, it was moved
by Commissioner Vollmer, seconded by Commissioner Vandeventer, that the meeting be
adjourned. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: these voting
Aye being Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Vandeventer, Commissioner MacNab,
I Commissioner Swanson, and Mayor Sedivy; those voting No, none.
