Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences. *: As an undergraduate at
the Univeristy of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I took full advantage of the resources of
Department of City and Regional Planning Graduate School. I completed a minor with as many
classes as I took towards my Geography degree including masters classes, attended additional
264
lectures, co-started an undergraduate urban planning club, completed internships and worked
with professors and the department. In 2013 I studied sustainable transportation in Germany,
Denmark, and Sweden with a research focus on comparative land use policy conducive to
bikeable communities. I am passionate about both sustainable transportation planning and a daily
bike commuter. While living in Washington, D.C. and interning for The National Geographic
Society I rode my bike to work every day, including through one minor hurricane and attended
events through the Washington Area Bicycle Association and Women & Bicycles. Since moving
to Bozeman I have rarely used my car for trips within the town. I have also been volunteering at
the Bike Kitchen to gain more hands-on skills. While working at KERBspace, a Bozeman-based
digital wayfinding startup I work to consider how information about cycle infrastructure and
other relevant information can improve bikablity in Bozeman and elsewhere. For more
