I Bozeman, Montana January 8, 1980 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in special session in the Meadowlark Room, Ramada Inn, Tuesday, January 8, 1980, at 1:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Mayor MacNab, I Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Stiff, Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Mathre, retir- ing Mayor Sedivy and Commissioner Vandeventer, City Manager Gesko, and the Clerk. Retiring Mayor Sedivy opened the special meeting with a prayer. The City Manager stated the purpose of the special meeting was to carry out a brief orientation session for the City Commission, to include the retiring Mayor and Commissioner Vandeventer. The City Manager called upon the individuals selected and the department heads to present a review of their activities, functions, and duties and the goals they wish to accomplish. The following persons appeared before the Commission to present their materials. Clerk of the City Commission - Erna Harding Library Superintendent - Margaret Hileman Chief of Police - George Tate Fire Chief - Bud Simpson Street & Sanitation Superintendent - Clinton Gee Water & Sewer Superintendent - Don Strang Sewage Treatment Superintendent - Donald Noyes City Engi neer - Art Van't Hul City Building Official - Donald Barrick Cemetery & Park Superintendent - Dwain Wortman Recreation Superintendent - A. Glen White Director of City/County Planning - Paul Bolton Director of Finance - Grant Murie I John Evans, Administrative Officer also attended the meeting. Two members of the press were present for the entire meeting to listen to the presentation given by all individuals and department heads. All persons, other than the Mayor, the Commissioners, the retiring Mayor and Commissioner, and the City Manager were excused at 7:00 o'clock p.m., and the Commission went into an execu- tive session. The executive session was adjourned at 9:30 p.m. and the general session was reconvened. There being no further business to come before the special meeting, it was moved by Commission Mathre, seconded by Commissioner Swanson, that the special meeting be adjourned. The motion was carried by the following Aye and No vote: those voting AYe being Commissioner Mathre, Commissioner Vollmer, Commissioner Stiff, Commissioner Swanson, and Mayor MacNab; those voting No, none. ~e,'-_~#L~~ DUNCAN S.
