BACKGROUND: City representative Doug Chandler’s seat expired on September 30, 2016. He has reapplied for his current position with an updated expired term of September 30, 2019. The Gallatin Local Water Quality District was created by Resolution No. 1995-55 of the Gallatin County Commission, and approved by the Montana Board of Environmental Review in 1997. The focus of the Gallatin Local Water Quality District is water resources education and water quality monitoring for increased awareness of water-related issues and public health. This Board has one term for a City of Bozeman representative that is vacant. One application has been received. Doug Chandler currently serves in this capacity. Mr. Chandler has indicated that he is willing to continue to serve on our Board for another three-year term and we welcome his continued service. Therefore, I am requesting the Bozeman City Commission reappoint Mr. Chandler as the representative to the GLWQD Board for the term effective October 1, 2016 – September 30, 2019.
