HomeMy WebLinkAbout1980-08-12 94A Bozeman, Montana August 12, 1980 The Commission of the City of Bozeman met in special session in the Commission Room, Municipal Building, August 12, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p.m. Present were Commissioner Vollmer, I Commissioner Stiff, Commissioner Swanson, Commissioner Mathre, City Manager Gesko, City Attorney Planalp, and the Clerk of the Commission. Commissioner Vollmer opened the meeting with roll call. Discussion on proposed budget for fiscal year 1980-1981 The City Manager advised the Commission that the City staff has thoroughly reviewed the proposed budget for the Fiscal Year 1980-1981. He explained that it is a balanced budget, of course, with revenues and expenditures for the General Fund at $2,644,164.00. He stated it was a maintenance-type budget, but with a hint of financial, capital and personnel growth, after all three had "bottomed--out" during the past ftscal year. The City Manager said funds are available to hire two extra men on the Fire Department in the event the insurance rates should go up. A discussion was held in regard to allocating an addtttonal $15,000.00 in the City Ha 11 Complex (A-4, Page 2 item 70) budget for a chairlift. It was moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by Commissioner Mathre, that the budget for the City Hall Complex be increased $15,000.00 for the purpose of putting in a chairlift. In discussing the Financial Administration Budget Unit (A-6) regarding .51 Contracted Services, it was recommended that the City Manager and the Finance Director consider adding the sum of $3,294.00. The Commission discussed the contracted services for Budget Unit Elections (A-18). A discussion was held on the operations and capital of Budget Unit City Attorney (A-IO) regarding any items that should be included in the operating budget for the fiscal year I 1980-1981. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the special meeting of the City Commission, it was moved by Commissioner Mathre, seconded by Commissioner Vollmer, that the meeting be adjourned.
