SUBJECT: 2016 Bridger Drive Trunk Sewer Main Project Notice of Award
MEETING DATE: September 12th, 2016

RECOMMENDATION: Ratify the Acting City Manager’s signature on the Notice of Award to COP Construction LLC for the Total Base Bid in the amount of $420,912.00.
BACKGROUND: Attached is a copy of the Notice of Award for the above referenced project. The project
generally involves installation of a 15” sewer main across and along Bridger Drive from Birdie Drive to Story
Mill Road, an 8” sewer main in Story Mill Road from Bridger Drive to Griffin Drive and an 8” sewer main in
Griffin Drive from Story Mill Road west approximately 380 feet including manholes, sewer main stubs, sewer service stubs, all weather access roads, surface restoration, and all appurtenances.
The project is being completed in accordance with the Wastewater Facility Plan and will provide the capacity
necessary to serve a large area south of Bridger Drive. This project will get the sewer across Bridger Drive
prior to its reconstruction next summer. It will also provide immediate service to the properties along Story Mill and Griffin Drive. Those property owners approached the City about getting service and will be
reimbursing us for all of the work on Story Mill and Griffin. The contract is to be completed within 75 days of
the issuance of the notice to proceed.
Bids for the above-referenced project were opened on August 23, 2016 with 4 bids being submitted. The low bid was submitted by COP Construction LLC in the amount of $420,912.00. The Bid Tabulation for the project is attached.
UNRESOLVED ISSUES: None
ALTERNATIVES: Disapprove
FISCAL EFFECTS: Property owners in the area will be reimbursing the City for all of the work on Story Mill and Griffin Drive. This amounts to $167,868.13. Of the remaining $253,043.87, 81% or $204,965.53 is the capacity expanding portion of the 15” main and will be paid from the Wastewater Impact Fee Fund and
$48,078.34 for the 8” equivalent portion of the main will be paid from the Wastewater Fund.
