HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-12-16 HPAB MinutesBozeman Historic Preservation Advisory Board January 12, 2016 I. President Matson called the meeting to order at 6:07pm. Present were Matson, Saunders, Crawford, York, Jacobs and Ketterer; Hufstetler excused. II. There were no Ex Parte Communications. III. No Changes to Agenda. IV. Introductions – Vicky York and Guy Crawford introduced themselves to the Board and the Board introduced themselves to the newest Board members. New member Tuli Fisher not present. V. Minutes – Amended; motion to approve by Jacobs, seconded by Ketterer and passed unanimously. VI. No consent agenda items. VII. No Public Comment. VIII. Action Items A. Election of new board officers – President Matson to continue as President through June. Jacobs made motion to table elections until February retreat. Secretary Ketterer not to continue; Jacobs volunteered to take minutes going forward, Crawford seconded motion; motion passed. IX. FYI/Discussion A. 2016 Bozeman Historic Preservation Awards Planning 1. Taking suggestions for Speakers. 2. York to contact new Inter-Neighborhood Council coordinator, Jessica Johnson, to get the Awards information out to the neighborhoods for nominations. York will also check with Johnson about a database of contacts so it can be referred to next year. 3. Presenters – Board like the ideas to use last year’s winners as presenters this year. And if they are not available, then will use the same as last year, commissioner, Board President, HPO etc. 4. Saunders will check with Kramer as to where the HP potential nominees electronic folder is located. 5. Publicity – In addition to posting Nomination form posted at the City website, emailed other preservation group and n social, media via Extreme History. No newspaper, flyers or radio ads yet. Saunders will get Award Nominations in City Manager Newsletter, mentioned at City Commission meeting and possibly a PSA. 6. Saunders indicated nominatons could be delivered to board for review via laser fiche. B. Annual Retreat Planning – Retreat for mid-range and long range goals. Agenda items NCOD, education and Bylaws. President Matson to send out a doodle poll to see when members are available. C. Possible conflict pf February 9 th meeting. York motioned to change next regular meeting date to February 16; Jacobs seconded; motion passed unanimously. X. Historic Preservation Officer Report – Saunders indicated that the city plans to fill the Historic Preservation Officer position. Board bylaws are in review with questions out to SHPO. Demolition Ordinance and Membership ordinance are high priority for the City. Revision of all city regulations is in process. City items to include Transportation update, Unified Code update, North 7 th Street new zone district and final NCOD posted online. XI.
