HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 4713 Setting the Annual Salary for the Position of Municipal Court Judge COMMISSION RESOLUTION NO. 4713 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA, SETTING THE ANNUAL SALARY FOR THE POSITION OF MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE WHEREAS, at each budget cycle the Bozeman City Commission sets the salary of the Municipal Court Judge, including increases; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of citizens that the position of Municipal Court Judge of Bozeman be sufficiently and competitively compensated to attract quality candidates willing to serve in this fundamental position; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to set the Municipal Court Judge salary to reflect the findings of the City of Bozeman's pay studies conducted approximately every three years; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has the authority pursuant to Montana Code Annotated Section 3-6-203 and the Bozeman Municipal Code Section 22.01.090 to establish the annual salary of the Municipal Court Judge by resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana,that Section 1 Effective the 1St day of July, 2016,the salary of a full-time elected Municipal Court Judge serving in the City of Bozeman Municipal Court will have a pay range set equivalent to the pay range of Police Chief, as determined by the City Manager. Section 2 The full-time Municipal Court Judge, duly elected, consents to set the hourly rate of pay of any part-time Municipal Court Judges at the annual salary of the full-time appointed or elected Municipal Court Judge determined by this resolution. PASSED AND APPROVED by the City Commission of the City of Bozeman, Montana, at a regular session thereof held on the 15th day of August, 2016.
