Work session on City Manager applications The Commissioners conducted the work session on the City Manager applications, which was the stated purpose of this special meeting. Each of the Commissioners in turn reviewed the information he/she had received from the various telephone references for the two applicants under consideration for this meeting. Following review of those telephone conversations, the Commissioners considered these two I applications, C-6 and C-8, along with the two applications which had been held at Monday's meeting, C-13 and E-3. Commissioner Weaver indicated whichever candidate is selected from this group of four will be added to the two, C-4 and E-7, which had been selected at Monday's meeting as potential candidates for a personal interview. Following a brief discussion, the Commissioners concurred that applicants C-4, C-8, E-3 and E-7 should be invited to Bozeman for personal interviews. The Commission then directed the Clerk of the Commission to call the four candidates and invite them for interviews during the next two weeks. The Commission also decided to pay all travel, motel and meal expenses for the four candidates through the normal City claim process. Also, the Commission determined it best to encourage the wives of the candidates to attend the interview if possible and indicated the City will pay the motel and meal expenses for the spouse also. Commissioner Vant Hull then noted the City received 132 applications for the position of City Manager from 40 states. She also noted 10 applications were received from Montana residents. Adjournment - 6:00 p.m. There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, it was moved by Commissioner Vant Hull, seconded by Commissioner Anderson, that the meeting be adjourned.
