Box 1230 121 North Rouse Avenue Bozeman, Mt. 59771 As a Bozeman home owner I find it interesting your concern about neighborhood integrity in regard to vacation rentals. Have you ever given any thought to neighborhood integrity in regard to rentals that house MSU students and neighborhood integrity? Rental houses usually contain at least 4 students; each student has a car or a pickup. If there are overnight visitors there are more vehicles. If there is more than one rental on your street multiply that by two or three. Lawns are rarely mowed or watered. Yards contain numerous dead bushes and or trees that need to be taken out or replaced. How would you like to go out on your deck on a beautiful Bozeman evening and find a dozen individuals sitting on the roof next door staring at you? Not an enjoyable experience! Winter is another challenge, getting out of your driveway and down the street is almost impossible with all the vehicles when the streets are narrower due to snow accumulation. I would much rather have vacation rentals then MSU students in my neighborhood. The owners of these houses will at least have to keep their property in good condition and the renters will have one to two vehicles in the neighborhood which is better than eight to ten year around.
