Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences. *: As a general community
member...I am passionate about the overall look and feel of our community and the general feeling it portrays to locals and visitors. I think it is vital for a community to realize the
importance of enhancing and maintaining beautification in the public and private sectors and for
273
the city to support these efforts in an way possible As the Director of the Downtown Bozeman
Association I also see the importance of beautification within a certain district. I see directly the
impact the city tax dollars have to keep downtown clean and beautiful. This attitude and support
from the city encourages the private sector to have the same passion about beautification

Other Info: I feel the Beautification Awards and Clean-Up Day are important programs for the
the City of Bozeman to support. The BBAB board does an outstanding job of organizing these events and I feel honored to be a small part of the continuation of these programs. They are
programs that make community members feel special, recognized and celebrated in ways the city
is unable to do through the general workload which is why the work that these advisory boards
do are so important to our community.

Other Info: I know how important bike paths and trails are especially in the very fast paced growth spurt that Bozeman is experiencing. I'm an avid biker and would love to see all roads in
Bozeman and surrounding areas bike friendly and safe. I do believe an educational campaign
would benefit all drivers and bikers. I also feel strongly that all subdivisions should be connected
by bike lanes and or paths.

Please explain your relevant qualifications, interests and experiences. *: As a 2013 recipient of
the “Good Neighbor Award” for my work to increase the aesthetics of my home’s boulevard area
through the planting of a perennial garden, I am familiar with the great work that the BBAB does
to make Bozeman a beautiful, livable place. I have been a resident of Bozeman for almost 15
years, and I purchased my first home six years ago in downtown Bozeman. We undertook an
extensive remodel of that home, an aging single-level on Peach Street, in 2010. As a part of this
remodel, we put in a large vegetable garden, landscaping in the backyard, and a perennial garden
along the boulevard. Last year, we moved to a home one block north on Bozeman Avenue, and
we will begin an extensive landscaping effort on this property this summer. Professionally, I
have been employed by the World Wildlife Fund Northern Great Plains Program, based in
279
Bozeman, for eight years. In my role as Senior Program Officer, I manage the development of
our strategic plan and science program, as well as our monitoring and evaluation program. I
currently serve on the Board of the Montana Society for Conservation Biology and on three other
professional technical and steering committees. In these roles, I have helped to steer strategic
planning efforts, assisted with hosting and organizing meetings, and helped to prioritize technical
details. I would like to use the skills that I have built through these experiences in a Board
position that affects the community that I call home.
