Message: I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the commission meeting this evening, as I am not in
Bozeman right now. But I will be live streaming the meeting. I am following the vacation rental
story closely. Personally, I don't think folks should be allowed to buy a home in the downtown
core of Bozeman just as a short term rental investment. But I'm not sure how that would be enforced, unless neighbors have issues. If a home is a primary residence that is occasionally used
for short term rentals (less than 4 months of the year), that should be made legal to do in town. I
wish MSU would build more dorms, both to ease the housing crunch and because the houses that
are rented to students can cause neighborhood problems.
