BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA: Section 1 That Section 6.04.020 of the Bozeman Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: 6.04.020 Licenses - Requirements generally - Fee - Expiration. a. No license shall be issued for a spayed female or neutered male without presentation of proof of such spaying or neutering. First-time licenses issued after July 1 shall be prorated on a semi-annual basis. All licenses shall expire on December 31 of the year of issuance. A five dollar late licensing fee will be assessed upon all renewal licenses issued after February 15 of the current license year. b. Every person owning, keeping or harboring any cat over six months of age within the corporate limits of Bozeman, shall cause such cat to be registered and numbered annually with the department of finance of the city, and shall pay for such registration ten dollars for each cat or, in the event the cat has been neutered or spayed, shall pay the sum of five dollars for each neutered male cat or spayed female cat. No registration shall be issued for a spayed female or neutered male without presentation of proof of such spaying or neutering.
