Charlotte talked to people who have received awards in the past and
inquired its impact/success etc. Here are Charlotte’s findings:
Martha Drysdale – appreciative, feels other recipients feel the
same, happy to be recognized by providing affordable living
Susanne and Ralph (residents on North Church) – “brought a
sense of community and self pride”. Have award hanging in
their home. Use award as a “selling feature” of the home.
This award was a “jump-start” to expand their project their
future
Martha Youngman – Installs a sense of pride, neighbors
talking to each other about the award, inspired to continue
the renovation of the entire house
Tad with Intrinsik Architecture – full wall inside their
office…they use this wall as motivation to do good in our
community
ThinkTank – encouraged, enhanced the desire to continue
doing similar efforts, community pride, etc…
Charlotte mentioned what the BBAB’s role in the community
according to the website needs to be updated to removed
“funding” involvement
Charlotte suggest expanding membership
Nominations from INC group for BBAB awards with Jessica
Johnson, maybe one submission from each neighborhood,
reaching out to garden club, others?
Terry outlines the importance of the Clean Up Day and BBAB
Awards to the city and community interaction
Idea to send a letter to past beautification award recipients asking
“their feedback” on the awards
Ellie lists ideas she has come up with as BBAB future projects:
“What makes Bozeman Beautiful” contest – FB photo
contest, in schools
Recognition for smaller projects….quarterly letters sent to
these projects
Graffiti help?
Advise City more (medians, highway clean-up, fall leaf
removal, snow removal)
BBAB Meeting with the Commission – decided it would be better to meet
with Commissioners after Clean Up Day, Allyson will request the April 25th
date with the commission
G. BBAB will meet in March on March 9 at 4:30pm due to spring break
scheduling conflicts
