Olive Street Board members in attendance: Terry Quatraro, Charlotte Knight, Ellie Staley, Allyson Brekke, (Staff liaison), Commissioner I-Ho Pomeroy (late arrival, Commission liaison) QUORUM MET A. Called to Order: 4:41 p.m. B. Changes to Agenda - none C. Public Comment No public in attendance. D. Approval of Minutes  Motion to approve January 2016 minutes. Terry makes motion, Charlotte seconds. Approved 3-0. E. Disclosure of Comments/Information Received. None to report. F. Action/Discussion Items  Monthly meeting date: Reschedule Monthly meeting date/time…4th Wednesday at 4:30pm suggested or the 1st Wednesday is second option. Will confirm at March 9 meeting  Update on Clean-Up Day: Ellie and Allyson update board on meeting with other city employees who are part of the annual event. Below is an analysis of what was decided:  A clean up day is planned on April 23 with the hopes the BBAB will continue as a part of the event. There will be “Clean-up kits” handed out and a complimentary breakfast. It will be located in the community room at the Bozeman Public Library  The BBAB Board will assist by adding items to the kits for the day and will volunteer at the event.  Jessica with INC will provide a press release and Kevin will provide the marketing materials for the event  Ideas for additional flyers/items for the bags:  Sweet pea seeds  “Free rake” from Ace  Flyer to promote BBAB Awards  Other coupons?  Map with “problem” trash areas  Instructions for “how to clean up Bozeman”  Others?  Brainstorming Beautification project ideas Page 2- BBAB DRAFT minutes for the meeting of February 17, 2016  Charlotte talked to people who have received awards in the past and inquired its impact/success etc. Here are Charlotte’s findings:  Martha Drysdale – appreciative, feels other recipients feel the same, happy to be recognized by providing affordable living  Susanne and Ralph (residents on North Church) – “brought a sense of community and self pride”. Have award hanging in their home. Use award as a “selling feature” of the home. This award was a “jump-start” to expand their project their future  Martha Youngman – Installs a sense of pride, neighbors talking to each other about the award, inspired to continue the renovation of the entire house  Tad with Intrinsik Architecture – full wall inside their office…they use this wall as motivation to do good in our community  ThinkTank – encouraged, enhanced the desire to continue doing similar efforts, community pride, etc…  Charlotte mentioned what the BBAB’s role in the community according to the website needs to be updated to removed “funding” involvement  Charlotte suggest expanding membership  Nominations from INC group for BBAB awards with Jessica Johnson, maybe one submission from each neighborhood, reaching out to garden club, others?  Terry outlines the importance of the Clean Up Day and BBAB Awards to the city and community interaction  Idea to send a letter to past beautification award recipients asking “their feedback” on the awards  Ellie lists ideas she has come up with as BBAB future projects:  “What makes Bozeman Beautiful” contest – FB photo contest, in schools  Recognition for smaller projects….quarterly letters sent to these projects  Graffiti help?  Advise City more (medians, highway clean-up, fall leaf removal, snow removal)  BBAB Meeting with the Commission – decided it would be better to meet with Commissioners after Clean Up Day, Allyson will request the April 25th date with the commission G. BBAB will meet in March on March 9 at 4:30pm due to spring break scheduling conflicts H. Meeting Adjourns at 5:45pm Minutes taken by member Ellie Staley.
