SUBJECT: Amendment No. 2 to DNRC Grant Agreement for Bozeman Creek Enhancement TOP Project

RECOMMENDATION: Authorize the City Manager to sign Amendment No.2 to the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Grant Agreement No. RRG-14-1608
(Attachment 1) extending the grant deadline.
BACKGROUND: Resolution No. 4492, the Commission acknowledged receipt of a $100,000
Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation grant and allocated up to $440,000
in TOP bond funding for the Bozeman Creek at Bogert Park Enhancement Project. In early 2014, a preliminary design was prepared in order to negotiate access from property owners along the creek adjacent to Bogert Park. The design had to be modified due to one homeowner not
agreeing to have any work done on his property. All federal, state, and local permits were finally
obtained June 3, 2016. Since construction must occur during the low-flow period, it will begin
in August of this year. Final bid documents are currently being prepared. This amendment will extend the deadline for completion of the project to June 30, 2017.
