ORDINANCE NO. 1232
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN,
MONTANA, ESTABLISHING THE OFFENSE OF A "PEEPING PERSON" AND
THE PUNISHMENT THEREOF.
PREAMBLE
The purpose of this ordinance is to make it a crime to peep into structures.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN: I
That Section 9.44.010 be added to the Bozeman Municipal Code and shall read as follows:
9.44.010 Peeping Person
Section 1. It shall b. unlawful for any person to be a "peeping person. II
Section 2. The term "pe.ping person" means one who peeps, looks or peers through windows or
doors or other openings on the premises of another where a reasonable expectation of privacy
exists for the purpose of spying upon or invading the privacy of the person spied upon, and
the doing of any other act of a similar nature which invades the privacy of such persons.
Section 3. Any person who violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and punishable by a fine not to exceed Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00).
