ORDINANCE NO. 1148
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA,
AMENDING SECTIONS 18.04.020 AND 18.50.110 OF THE BOZEMAN MUNICIPAL
CODE, PROVIDING FOR THE DEFINITION AND SETBACK REQUIREMENTS OF AN
ACCESSORY USE, STRUCTURE OR BUILDING IN THE CITY OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA.
I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOZEMAN:
Section 1
That Section 18.04.020 of the Bozeman Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
18.04.020 Accessory Use, Structure or Building.
The use of land, a structure or a subordinate building or a portion of a main building which
is secondary or incidental to the principal use or structure.
Section 2
That Section 18.50.110 of the Bozeman Municipal Code be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
18.50.110 Accessory Buildings and Structures.
A. No accessory building or structure shall be erected in any required front yard, and no
I separate accessory building shall be erected within ten feet of any principal building.
B. An accessory building or structure not to exceed one story or fourteen feet in height in-
cluding heating and cooling unit may occupy not more than twenty-five percent of the area
of a required rear yard, provided that any such accessory building wall shall be at least ten
feet from the nearest point of the main building wall (excluding eave overhang), and that
the accessory building or structure shall be at least eight feet from the side property lines,
and ten feet from the rear property line.
